1. What Parkane does and what it NEVER does

2. How a handover works, step by step

Step 1 — the departure notice. The parked driver knows they are leaving in 5–10 minutes. They announce it from their desk or café without needing to idle in their car.

Step 2 — booking on the move. A driver heading into the area sees the spot on the map and reserves it. Both drivers are now connected: the arriving driver gets turn-by-turn navigation, and the parked driver tracks their approach live.

Step 3 — the car stays put until you arrive. The parked driver physically remains in the spot until the arriving car pulls up. The space is never left empty or vulnerable to passing cars. When the arriving car pulls up, the parked driver starts their engine and pulls out.

Step 4 — recognition and handover. Both drivers see each other's car make, model, and license plate. The departing car smoothly pulls out, the arriving car pulls in. The handover takes only a few seconds.

Step 5 — confirmation and settlement. The arriving driver confirms the handover in the app (or the system auto-confirms one minute after arrival), and ParkCoins transfer to the departing driver. No cash, no roadside negotiations.

3. The Parkane community: today you park, tomorrow you help

In Parkane, there are no sellers and buyers. We are all drivers sharing the same streets: in the morning you spend ParkCoins to park quickly downtown for a meeting; at lunch or evening you announce your departure, hand over your spot, and earn back ParkCoins for your next trip.

If you park in an open space and are the first to post it in Parkane, you start an exchange chain. When that spot is handed down by subsequent drivers throughout the day, you receive a share of ParkCoins from each successful handover.

Honest answers to common questions

What if the arriving driver gets stuck in traffic?
Chișinău traffic can be unpredictable. If the arriving driver is running late, they can request a time extension with additional compensation. The extension only applies if the parked driver agrees to keep waiting.

What if a third driver tries to squeeze in?
The parked driver's car stays in the spot until the arriving car is right there, leaving no room for opportunistic parkers. The handover happens car-to-car, and matching license plates prevents confusion.

Do I need to buy coins to start using Parkane?

Are there always spots available on the map?
